Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

The end is near.

The next round will not offer any severance or benefits. Better secure what you can now.

Don't worry, most are jumping ship to our Vendors like Dell, Pure, Microsoft and others. You can see all the Linkedin posts of late where DXC'ers are postioning to be hired by our vendors

Well, I can confirm that there are set of clowns running the show in Europe trying to justify that they are in control! Better replace them by Ai as suggested by Raul. Unfortunately, they want to hold on their position so.. difficult times for the employees running the show so leave when it's time except if you've been old HP timers to get some good packages..

DXC is a dinosaur. It staked its future on running legacy enterprise systems long ago — and its mantra ever since has been: don’t touch it, don’t change it, and it won’t break.

Over time, DXC has cut back again and again. Staff are no longer able to practice or grow their skillsets — just sit there and wait for something that's been running for a decade to fail. (Spoiler: it probably won’t.)

Then along comes AI — rocket tech by comparison. Modern companies are now spinning up polished, tested systems and deploying them faster than ever before. Meanwhile, DXC is lagging badly. It’s no longer seen as relevant.

To DXC, staff are just numbers. There’s no incentive to keep pace — certainly no offer to double salaries to match the exponential speeds and expectations the industry now demands.

Let’s be honest: our days are numbered. Management wants people to quit. And it’s making life intolerable in order to make that happen. I doubt the execs earning billions are completely stupid.

The real mistake? Failing to see the writing on the wall. The people who've quietly been building their own lifeboats — you can’t admit it, but we know you’re doing it. Most of us are.

Because we all know why we’re really still here: 20 years worth of redundancy pay due.

@fv They dare not offer it. They'll get inundated and HR is already too busy updating your training record with ad-hoc courses.

It's a war of patience. Pay us to be bored. Or pay us to go. But no works being done around here.

They can still afford to sponsor Manchester United, and F1, and pay senior execs millions in bonuses. All the while freezing employees pay for years and years. Saying there's no money for pay rises, but expect everyone to still complete all their PDP objectives! Then wonder why all their employees couldn't give a F*ck about the company.

Roll on redundancy.

Unless you're on megabucks, or have golden terms. When DXC becomes insolvent, the government's Redundancy Payments Service (RPS) can step in to pay out certain amounts owed to employees. This includes statutory redundancy pay, as well as other payments like unpaid wages, holiday pay, and money owed for the notice period. For the vast majority who's salary has never gone up - you're fairly well covered. For those who are on megabucks and been here forever - then more fool you if you spent it all knowing how unstable this company is.

This is lies

Legally they don’t have a choice they are far from bankrupt

Anyone who buys DXC will honour terms.

@a6 There definitely won't be after a few unfair dismissal court cases. But unless they know what it is they need doing and it's well defined enough to measure. They can flap about all they like. If you don't need my role make it redundant. Statutory limits went up. DXC pay didn't. So they can't save significant money anyway.

They had plenty of opportunities to dismiss people who seem to have forgotten how to do the job they've been doing since forever. But realised those people are the only ones who even want to touch legacy.
