@a4 don't think folks are being forced to retire, not yet at least. But certainly a concern it's being offered in the first place because they clearly have a number they are looking for of folks to leave so if no one bites and takes the retirement then what? They can't layoff all those folks that would be age discrimination.
And yeah definitely those questions are reviewed. Was it last year when a women on the townhall was honest and said the employees are not OK? She mentioned something too if I recall about the coffee in the St Louis office also being terrible and a bunch else I can't recall anymore. But I'm sure that was the last Q&A that dint have planted questions. Wonder if they let that person go or if she quit....
As far as I am aware, there is no forced retirement here. An offer was extended to some employees and it was up to them to accept or not.
Now, if the unspoken context is more like "you are gone one way or another, so you'd better strongly consider this" then maybe.
Why would someone who had a question about an early retirement option, available to only 3500 workers, in an all-employee town hall?
I'm sure there is a process set up for fielding questions about the program. No need to waste everyone's time going thru all that.
@a4 can you elaborate more on this 3500 Force retirement thing?
When AI takes the jobs everyone expects, who will be Cigna’s commercial customer?
@a4 if you had a question about retirement program, why didn’t you ask.
AI is the way to go. Company has to evolve with the new technology. No immediate workforce reduction for now, but for sure in days to come
Not one single person out of the 3500 being forced to retire was able to ask a question about that???..... Of course David made sure at the beginning to say these questions are not pre planned, really? Of course they are. No one asks the stupid questions these people did, come on. You know darn well they kept those questions about forced to retire out of that meeting....
@a1 were you in the meetings or are you speculating?
Clearly AI and workforce reduction.
