Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CIO announcement 28-30

With the background that LC, KG, and LM (now fired) having never managed an IT ecosystem with the global scope as large as Chevron, LC has just hooked up his friend to a PSG 29 role to manage IT Operations, which is mostly MSP and outsourced now.

The size and scope of KG’s role versus a BU GM generating cashflow for Chevron - there is no comparison.

I know that there is a lot of people on here bagging on RS, AG, but think about the work that you’ve done to secure IT in cyber, to manage the migration to cloud and set up CI/CD for everything we do. And these guys who have even less experience are now coming in and giving each other promotions when their compensation at GM is barely a 25-26 level.

MN and EB got fooled. And it’s a sad day for Chevron IT.

The AEOIs are starting to make themselves visible. When will MW, MN, EB realize that all of the distinguished engineers / tech experts have quit with plenty of runway left?

They do not believe in LC’s vision and all of the things that he is doing is destroying anything good that has ever come out of the function.

No, if anything they might be afraid of ‘em
Fits the new MN world order where DEI doesn’t matter.

LC is icky if he really increased the PSGs just for his friends. KG announced as director, PSG 29, sounds shady as he-l. How can IT Operations be that high, after we already outsourced everything. And we are moving a ton of ITFP to ENGINE, where they have their own IT director and all the expat platform ops people???

KG’s scope is TINY compared to when Lynn and Jim were around, and even now with Ray.

It’s so blatantly obvious that he’s helping out a friend. And if you noticed any other functions and business orgs that announced their directors - they also confirmed some GMs under them, but not in IT... This means that KG is a 29, and the only roles under him are 26s at best.

LC has created an organization in which his friends that nobody knows are sitting pretty at 29, while all of the other IT leaders are sitting 3-4 PSGs lower with no way to reach those roles. IT IS DISGUSTING.

Not only LC the job hopper, but ALL of his friends, too. What’s disgusting is that he’s getting all these people from his Alma mater, sort of like Jerry Jones, except even worse. People only looking at the whole General Motors crew. Look at their backgrounds and whether you think HP was a good IT shop. LOL.

When Eimear forced out the previous CIO, she hadn’t in her wildest dreams to find somebody who is 10x worse. She needs to admit that this was a bad hire and part ways with this guy.

My feedback on LC is "Job Hopper". Can't stay long enough to make a difference.

I am heartbroken, I actually thought there was a chance they may bring in a few people that had the experience to make improvements. Just another set of people without the leadership skills to take Chevron into the 21st century with IT. Sad day and I cannot wait for the new process changes to be implemented.

Is KG is anything like LM, these guys lied their way in with their “accomplishments” at their previous companies. LM’s LinkedIn page is full of things that never happened. He was a PSG 25 at best at Chevron equivalent, and LC was going to get him a 29.

  1. C. and K.G. have shared tenures at multiple companies since 1997, always moving at nearly the same time.
  1. C
  • GM 2012-2024
  • HP 2005-2012
  • Dell 2000-2004
  • Walmart 1997-2000

K.G.

  • GM 2012-2024
  • HP 2005-2012
  • Dell 2001-2005
  • Walmart 1986-2000

KG has 23 EY contractors reporting directly to him. 8 of the 23 have overlapping tenures with both LC and KG at previous companies.

Strange times……
