Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Best of Luck

I applied for the VSP. I got approved. My separation date is in May 2027. I have been looking for another job since they pulled bonuses, PFP's etc off table the beginning of 2023 even more so after the Sept 2023 Lay Off leak. This whole thing is a sham....a PR stunt for the earnings call July 28th. Some say too many people applied - cool they didn't have to approve them all. It was bad enough giving a separation date of September but 8 months out? A year? The absolute mind f**k of it all is despicable. The only difference between those that didn't apply and those that did is "severance" and being locked into employment unless you quit before your separation date. BUT ALL OF you now will have the constant anxiety of being laid off at any given moment as has been the course since 2023 for most of us. And they did say in the agreement you can be subjected to involuntary layoffs even if you got the VSP.

I, after 3 years of applying out, landed another role and will be out next week. I wish everyone luck but don't let your guard down. None of the way this went makes any sense whatsoever and I believe there is an agenda and it is not good. What this company did to its employees is nothing short of psychological te---r and torture. Oh and KARMA IS A BI--H make no mistake. The company will reap what it sows eventually and I have a hunch it already is.

@a5 please do not say you want to die ….. no job or career is ever worth you feeling this way ….. you have children and life and that is worth more than anything as God will always provide….. have faith that everything happens for a reason and one day long from now, we will all look back and know that things that happened, all happened for a reason …. Praying for you and all of us

Congratulations! I knew after this spring and last falls layoffs, more were coming. I feel terrible for those that got shafted by this deal. I did not have a good gut feeling about it and here we are.

The next sh-t show will be the mandate for all to move to ICHRA next year. Just ask the Indiana team.

@a5 please don’t say that. We all understand your frustration I promise, but no job is ever worth your life. We can’t get any of that time back but we can decide how to make the best of it going forward. You made decisions based on your goals at the time, life happened and now it’s time to pivot. It will be ok!

@OP In my 20 years of nursing I have been treated like sh-t by companies most of my career and this is it. I’ve had it with this career. No stability whatsoever! I spent 50K and student loans still repay for what ? Lost time with kids and spouse and divorce for what ? I just wanna die.

Never seen anything like this in my career. It’s abusive to say the least.
