@a6 you are right, US and UK layoffs are not connected at all. UK notifications were in April and due to local consultations people will be leaving between 15th and 31st of May — it was communicated to all UK employees already.
@a5 why are you making thing up, no one that works for Verizon in Ireland or in the UK has been laid off today.
