Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Didn't relax for a single second this weekend

It's just survival mode at Optum now, constantly restless, constantly anxious. This weekend was especially bad because I know what's coming this week. So damn exhausting.

It is burn out. Please update your resume, and apply when you have the time.

Pour a drink or roll up, and step into the virtual meetings as they come.
With or without you, the day still moves forward. Don’t lose sleep over them, they won’t lose sleep over you.
Show up anyway, even if it’s just 1%, because that 1% is still more than the 0% they give us.

@cq Agreed. I was finally laid off after 15 years of annual anxiety. Much better job. A lot better pay and benefits. There is life after Optum.

Hakuna-matata. Literally nothing you can do about it. You can't work harder. You can't work smarter. Leadership doesn't care. Just start applying for new jobs, and get a head start on the inevitable. Focus on the things that actually matter in your life (Optum doesn't matter).

@OP
Danger is real, but fear is a choice- is a famous quote from the 2013 movie After Earth, spoken by Will Smith's character, Cypher Raige.

I just stopped caring. Whether at work or on weekend. These people don’t care if you work at 0 or 150%. They will lay you off.

Agreed. Every Sunday I have the worst anxiety. There was a time where I loved what I did in totality. And being reorganized is difficult and placed in roles you would never apply to.
