Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

RIFs confirmed for next week

I was just informed by my manager that RIFs are happening next week and I am on the reduction list. Anyone who is non-billable is in the crosshairs. No word on what the severance package looks like.

Any news on Fusion apps support teams layoffs?

@op If we are billable, does this imply we will probably not be impacted?

Agree with ThomasTheTrain's advice.

Since you have awareness that this is coming, back up everything now so you don't have to stress about it in the moment.

I had less than an hour and thought I had a backup, but my drive corrupted. I didn't disconnect from the network in time and got the remote lock-out. That's what I get for not double checking.

For those worrying about ICs vs Managers, I was the canary in the coal mine. M3. Didn't know my directs were being RIF'd and my execs didn't know I was being RIF'd. In our org (OCI) it was IC3 all the way to M7.

It was whack. So prepare for worst case scenario.

@a5 I am certain that managers have been told they will be fired if they leak any news. And in this job market you do not want to be looking for a job.

@ac This! Assume you are remote, disable the network. On the Sept 02 layoff I was able to access files until I put it in the box to send back. YMMV, They could have some automation to disable on the last date.

I work on OIM. I see revocation of access for thousands enqueued but not executed yet.

A few thoughts from someone who was RIF'd in August 2025.
1/ Make a local copy of anything you care about on your work laptop now. During my short RIF conversation it was suggested that I grab files quickly while I could. "While I could" turned out to be 30 seconds. In hindsight, I should have immediately ki-led the network when I hung up so the poison pill couldn't be delivered.
2/ Mourn your loss over a cup of coffee for 10 mins and then consider upgrading to LinkedIn premium where you proudly display the "open to work" banner. I don't think you need to send notice to your network, but try to attract the foraging recruiter. Half my interviews came from foraging recruiters. (then ki-l LinkedIn premium as soon as you don't need it.)
3/ Consider the gift you've been given and pivot. Your enterprise experience is extremely valuable to up and coming AI companies. I just signed with one and they're paying me much more than Ora did.
4/ Good luck and let positive thoughts drive you forward.

@a5 managers depending on their level; are asked to submit RIF lists all the time here. You have to submit the names from your teams that are considered. That doesn't mean that the final list will contain those folks; just that there's a consideraton from the team. In all reality, names can shift for lots of reasons like is someone pregnant or on STML or similar. Don't dismiss this post that her manager told her. Some folks are decent and warn their teams.

riiight. this time for sure, cross your heart? I don't believe it until I see actual reductions happening real time in sources like Slack total counts.

@a5 My manager informed me that she put my name on the reduction list and final timing is coming next week. Not sure why she'd tell me that if it wasn't true...

I think it probably is next week. But don’t believe your story at all. Managers would not find out a week in advance. Unless you’re far up the ladder, in which case they would not turn off your machine on Day 0.

This will be hitting the industry solutions consulting space globally. Nobody in the customer success services world is untouchable.

Severance packages will be based on your time served at Oracle and they will offer you a month of Cobra to sign the release. Likely setting the last day of work sometime in the second week of April; if this post is true.

Your manager will ask for your personal email and it will be submitted to HR and then your machine will be turned rendered unusable, meaning you won't even be able to log in and access anything. If you have RSU's and they vest in say June or beyond, they will be clawed back.

Good luck. They are skilled at this and will move quickly on D Day
