Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

When was the last time they tried anything besides layoffs?

How hard would it be to put together an actual strategy instead of just running the same play over and over - dispose of people, repeat.

This is strike 3 in Mark B’s playbook. Computer Associates, Silicon Graphics and OpenText. We are the Sears of Silicon Valley.

@a5 It is already being sold off... the second divestiture was announced early in the new year. Then came the demand that even "permanently remote" employees within a 50km radius of an office location must transition to in-office five days per week as of January 1, 2027 (surely because they are leasing too much unused space).

Their model is (or was) "Aquire then Fire". Now since they can't aquire anymore.....it's just fire.

They literally have never tried anything else...it's in their DNA.

They can't turn things around now because they have fired all their subject matter experts, product experts, distinguished engineers..

This is a direct consequence of the Board keeping a CEO in power year after year while their business deteriorated.

This company is going to be sold off for parts.
