Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Dan why are the executives pushing for TCS contracting company, fishy?

The rumor is TCS (Tata Consulting Services) will be the vendor, what is cooking here?
Dan in order to ensure competition exists, please do not limit to one vendor ... TCS has very poor delivery record. Hire cheaper, subpar contractors ...
One vendor approach will ki-l access to talent and competition. There is already alot of biasing, nepotism, favors being extended.

This is something to dig deep into, to find where the problem is ...
Conspiracy? Kickbacks? Why being pushed towards one vendor?

@a5 I think the reason they outsourced was to save cost and cut the employee headcount. With outsourcing, its so much easy to offshore. Pay 1/3rd the cost of American labor. Less head count, means higher stock price.
Average experienced American may be paid $90K/year whereas the contracting company can misclassify an experienced H1B for level-1 and only end up paying $65-75K/year.

What I do not understand is leadership taking sides with one vendor? Why sit with that one vendor Project Manager and advocate all work for them? Monopoly of one vendor is not good.

To DAN & Executives, atleast even in outsourcing, we need to have access to talent from any contracting company and not be limited to one, where fraud/kickbacks/nepotism will take place. And start auditing the delivery.
On purpose the system is broken, so that they can hide the fraud taking place.

kickbacks?
Laptop farms?
I have seen in my engineering team, they only bring in OPTs & H1Bs. They dont even try to find American Software Engineers. Fake resumes and credentials

@OP pretty sure Dan looked at the IEN project in North Jersey and realized his AD's have sc--wed it up so badly and we have lost so many customers he might want to just sub that out too. I mean people changing due dates after they miss the commitments just doesn't seem ethical!!!

If they really wanted to fix the system, which they don't, they would bring the work back in house. ICCs barely keep the lights on. Doesn't matter if you choose one or all of them.

Peter, how’s it going? You’re falling behind on your TCS reports. Gonna need you to come in on Saturday and Sunday. Kay, great

Bringing in contractors, that create bugs, cause crashes, make tools unstable .. they support multiple domains like IT. VGS, NS group.
The company is just ripping off Verizon, with shady practices, lots of productivity lost as well as company money.
Executives are backing this vendor which is outrageous.
