Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

EJ is a joke

Between leadership that doesn’t seem to know where it’s going, middle management that can’t execute, and expectations that keep getting more detached from reality, the whole thing feels like a circus that somehow keeps getting louder instead of better.

It’s PP and ELT. They are mostly leaders who go with the flow vs. think outside the box and inspire others. Everybody wants to get paid for doing as little as possible. The bark orders and avoid execution work.

@a5 Redo the clip of the coin toss with either sound bite. It would work perfectly.

It is a clown show after all. I’ve never met a group of leaders/GPs with no discernible skills or expertise. They can talk about stuff because they read the latest article on the topic or asked chat gpt. But they don’t know how to really operationalize and bring the people along.

Sometimes senior leaders make it difficult for middle managers to have enough autonomy to execute. I have actively been coached to behave on dysfunctional patterns by my senior leadership and I can't do anything about it once explicit guidance has been issued.

I can hear the circus music 🎶 and a little Benny Hill too.
