I’m pushing back with HR. I’m fine taking on the work of the slackers we kicked to the curb, but you’re gonna pay me!

Slackers? Those slackers probably did 90% of the work in your group while you were su-king up to the manager,, now shut up and get to work boy, you ain’t getting a promotion
@aq - "Imagine how sad someon'e life must be to take any time at all trolling a layoff board. I sincerely feel bad for people that are that miserable."
So true. This board is one inflammatory post after another.
As they say, Dude needs to get a job!
Grow up and do your job. Wow.
Or leave and find that job that will “pay you”. Yeah that makes more sense… please leave asap.
You know it is a troll because this isn't when pay increases are announced at VZ.
@op you are an absolute mo--n. I know people impacted and many of them are top performers. Get you facts straight and go eat an id--t salad.
Demand excellence? That doesn’t exist her but might exist in your mind.
@OP Be honest. Your a-s got laid off too and you mad cause you now have to work at Wendy’s.
@a5 I feel for those laid off but this is the wrong thought process. Demand excellence from the company, and fair pay.

If they were slackers then there shouldn’t be too much work for you to pick up…
OP doesnt work at verizon
No HR wouldnt give you raise but they might give u a VP coin……then kick you out in March 2026, saying you were a slacker!!!!
You may not get a pay raise but you will get a jelly of the month club certificate!!
@OP, we actually heard the opposite. The remaining employees were reportedly hand-picked by the AVP/Sr. Director because they were considered "friends." Good luck, Dan, trying to reinvent VZ with what’s left; it seems like the remaining group was chosen more for their connections than for their talent. Best of luck!
What an id--t
Don't settle for anything less than 10% Cola!
You’re not in any position to make any demands after a mass layoff. Be thankful you have a job, do the work to the best of your ability then you can ask for a reasonable increase during your next evaluation.
Keep dreaming. You'll be lucky if there are regular merits done in March.
You actually mean the slackers they kept.
You don’t have to call them slackers, not everyone that got laid off was one
