Bob Walters org inherited another group where tons of L1-L3 do minumum work and rely on Accenture — this includes a large system team of non technical project managers. Why isn’t Lefg taking this work?

@kc there’s an assoc director in the uk reporting to a level 2 in the USA , has no reporting staff and has been given AI work ? Has no Ai skills , since all his reportees were made redundant- has HR totally lost the plot

@aw Anyone rating their management direct reports and letting years of service even be a factor shouldn't be in a supervisory position. I know plenty of new people that do not perform well just like plenty of older people that do not perform well and have been "floating" for many years.

@ka what a complete f’up what the heck are HR doing if Avp’s are reporting to Avp’s . If operations have been streamline d then Avp’s need to go !

Was told by a Director in Supply Chain there will reductions coming at the L1/L2 sometime in the spring. He said there will also be more GM reductions. This company has to establish a span of control. We have multiple AVPs reporting to AVPs

@jz yep it’s the same groups which survive every redundancy in the same roles over 10 years , when will HR look at this and remove this inefficiency ???

@cj interesting how US managers are rating US folks higher than better overseas folks to keep US folks . No wonder the company is inefficient!

Folks. Let's not worry about situations that we can not control or predict. Layoff is imminent for ATT and we can't stop it. Why not enjoy the holiday with family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

@cj well you can only move if there are roles in your country- USA and India mainly

@cj most of the managers should have been retired or made redundant long ago they are stifling new skills and ability

@cj and if your manager doesn’t take an interest in your role or understand its importance you are stuffed or if you can do your managers role as they’ve been there forever, you are double stuffed . To be honest L2 ‘s do all the work ! All L3 - L5 need to be re-evaluated esp if they’ve been there over 10 years , they bring nothing new to the role just an easy life with a large salary .

@aw

That’s 100% false.

Your direct manager rates you and his other reports in order. They start at the bottom and work their way up.

That’s why if you think you’re at the bottom, you are, and need to move to a new group

@a5 If I recall correctly, the immediate manager is not the one who decides to be laid off within his subordinates. The names usually come from top-down (probably HR level). I also believe the chosen ones are based on years of service, pay rate, and maybe race.

At least you would get the entire 2025 bonus (assuming that happens as per usual)”

If you are surplused you don’t have to be on payroll end of December to qualify. You just get it prorated on how many days in the 2025 performance year that you were an active employee.

@a3 if it’s a credible source what departments would it effect? That would be more helpful.

I heard from a credible source at least one layoff in December.

Notification on 12/17
Exit on 12/31

Unfortunately, it would a very sad Christmas and New Year.
