Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Layoffs confirmed today

Decade and a half at xrx and someone in a private conversation confirmed (at least in their role within the service delivery organization) names are already on lists and submitted to VPs within said organizations.

CFO also mentioned "difficult decisions" being made... my guess is another 15%.

15% is not just a good guess, it’s the exact number we were tasked with. You must also be in management.

@a6 and don’t forget business case analysts. In Europe one person works a deal. In the Us there is a whole matrix of people depending on bla, bla, bla ….

We do not have a lot of accountants left. The VP’s are generally “self titled” and D4-D6 making average comp. CFO is lost. Agree org structure makes no sense. XRX has a history of the business saying they need more/better financial data to succeed, but they struggle to define what is missing. Finance/accounting has always need a scapegoat.

Why all the VP's?

Because there's plenty of VICE going on

@a5 there are a lot of empty suits still running around there as sales leaders making loads of money and doing nothing other than spout buzzword bingo. It's, sad yet funny all at same time.

If they violate WARN in your state/location, TURN THEM IN. Document it, and drop a dime on them..

IF you still work there you need to be focused on two things:

  1. What is next, where will I work?
  2. How do I fu-k XRX, SB, SLT back?

WARN Notices are state by state and are reported publicly the following month. If they file in most states today, we'll see it in October.

@OP which country and what is the time line? If it’s over 15% Xerox has to register it.

@a5 exactly. In most cases, the ones just below them can do the same work and for ALOT cheaper. Seems the VP title just creates ego maniacs. Period!

15% is a low number. Think 20-25%

the CFO should clean up her own house. Do we need finance VP's reporting to finance VP's reporting to SVP's of Finance, plus pricing managers and VP's everywhere, and business managers, and controllers, and 10 layers of pricing managers. We must have a zillion accountants looking at every MS deal.

Why do VP's still exist? Makes no sense, get rid of them.
