Suits don’t care but wallstreet does. They have sentiment analysis pulling from all over social media, including this ‘employee insider’ site.

@fd dear MD, I know your frustration of managing the job that doesn't related to your dolce&Gabbana experience in no way at all, but at least stop reacting to each and every layoff post you were being targeted and try to pretend you are cooking something to lift up the sinking ship, damn. Please don't try to chat like a third party person standing up to you.

Did anyone tell you that you are not working for an Engineering company? This is not Amazon! And if you think otherwise than I hope you will consider employment at the mall - Amazon where your engineering degree will find meaning and worth

I liked him, CJ is one of the few VPs that actually understands engineering. He probably sees Nike as a sinking ship and doesn’t want to move from Seattle to Portland where there’s nothing else.

Did MD move to Portland?

Look at MDs LinkedIn posts and her leaders responses to them. It’s all sycophants with shallow hyperbolic inspirational messaging. Elliot seems like a nice guy but Nike tech is becoming more useless than under the RAT even on a dollar for dollar basis. The company has always had an issue with focusing on making headlines vs execution. It’s a full on Potemkin village now in Nike tech.

Is there anyone hired by MD still at Nike?

More power to engineers to survive and sustain. VPs at GT come and go. They are here to boost their ego only.

"All will fail without a real engineering leader"

We were doing our jobs before CJ got here and the wins we had this last year weren't because of CJ.

CJ was more of a blocker than an enabler. I hope this will lead to greater efficiency.

@b1

What can I say? There was an open role to be CJ's chief of staff, so I applied. However, I was warned by several people who I trust that CJ wasn't trustworthy, and I was told of several examples. Basically, he wasn't as congenial in the day to day interactions as he was on the stage. Therefore, I withdrew. Maybe the advice I got was wrong and my friends were incorrect, but I don't think so. Besides, whoever got that role is sc--wed now.

@a8 all I have heard is the opposite. I’m not high enough to interact with him but guy was well liked by people who talked about him. Teams I talked to are surprised.

Nike just doesn’t care about tech enough to keep tech leaders. Why would they stay?

Good, make sure the swoosh leaves imprint on his behind.

Hope none of his directs get auto promotion. Pathetic group of self serving id--ts

Perhaps he did not appreciate the promotion guidelines email and saw himself stuck at the same role forever?

Oh the irony

@a5

CJ was the Chief Information Officer for Nike. Not to be confused with MD, the Chief Technology Officer for Nike. The CTO hired a CIO because she lacks the technical expertise required for her role.

I'm glad CJ is leaving. From the people that I know who worked directly with him, he was a nightmare to deal with. However, it's also not surprising that he's bailing on the Swoosh because Nike leadership is devaluing tech solutions. It should also be noted that CJ is a chronic job hopper. Since 2002, he's had 17 different jobs and an average length of stay at each company of just 2 years. He spends just enough time at a place to do a little damage and wear out his welcome, then he moves on to the next big paycheck.
