Before indians: it was the english

I dont want to hear anyone bad mouthing indians. Long before them there were worthless managers that laid on their accent really thick and did nothing: they were Scotts and English. I literally attended a meeting this week where a doufus mention “lifting his kilt” twice during a meeting. I have more confidence in an indian than the archetypical Englishman in houston who is dating a single mom.

In my experience, the British "managers" are the most incompetent lot. BP is one of the mokst mismanaged companies.

Talk to people at Exxon to get an idea of the future. Lots of Indian expats coming to the US “because they have nobody left in the US who knows how to do the job” since they sent it all to their Bangalore office. So now Indians are taking jobs back in the US pushed by their fellow Indians in leadership.

hmmm. the people overseas who are taking your jobs are already in their homeland. have you been paying attention???? the jobs posted overseas are all parts of the org at different levels except for the highest levels. take a look at the job posting at chevron and exxon. you’d be surprised. you might find your job posted.

We need to look at all expats working in the US, not just Indians, and ask if they are really worth it.

I dont think it’s just Indians fault. Most in our senior managements, whether they are Indians or whites are just big talkers without any clues. The underlying problem about this company is that we hired a bunch of these geniuses from the top MBA schools that don’t really know how to run the company. Grow your talents within your own company, from a pool of people who actually know how to do the job!

I would so gladly pi-s on your curry!! no one is going to convince me that the talent pool in the US or the UK is so depleted that we have to bring Indians to run things. But the truth is that Indians are willing to work for peanuts and white Americans are not, we want our benefits and our flexibility and our retirement packages and our affinity clubs and what not. All Indians want is a paycheck of $100 a day. That’s all.

'I dont want to hear anyone bad mouthing indians.'

That's easy to solve. Send them back to their homeland.
That will solve one of our problems and
they can create something great at home for themselves if they can.
You can go with them if you like their culture so much.
Everybody wins.

I'll bad mouth anyone willing to sell themselves short to fill the pockets of those who want us fighting.

You speak truth!
Many of us were unaware of just how many 'white' folks in our buildings were not from here. There were some Canadians who were here on work visas while we thought they were Americans!
