Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

This Cognizant move has been one of the worst

I can imagine how everyone feels, especially the veterans. I'm still here, but it doesn't really matter, does it? They can drop more of this on us anytime. We're being betrayed by a company so many of us have given years to. I'm saying this knowing I might get ridiculed. And I know, on an intellectual level, that this is how things work. But as a human being and a professional, I feel we are being betrayed.

@a4 not that it matters now, but, why was nothing invested in technology upgrades? In a Fintech company, that makes no sense. Tangling with these ancient systems is ridiculous. Again, not that it matters now, but imagine how much business could have been done with those upgrades?

I was RIF'd 3 years back. I agree with what you said. Gary Norcross was 'railroaded' out of the company to make way for the WorldPay debacle. And that was the ultimate down of what was once a very good company.

The moral compass and focus on clients was too costly. That will be the first thing Cognizant fixes.

Around a year has passed since I was RIF'd, and my view over this time has come down to this: for the veterans who put years in with Gary, I'm damned proud of what we built. That can't be taken away from us, even if these people are he-l-bent on destroying it. I have plenty of criticisms for the past, most notably the fact we did not properly invest in technology upgrades and tech evolution, but we ran a company with a moral compass that was focused on our clients and our coworkers. We changed a lot of lives, that still stands.
