I couldn’t make it to the event. Was anything said related IPO? What was the “treat it like a gift card” gift?
OP was right, the “mystery gift” is a thick stack of stock certificates! Congrats to all!
@OP aged like milk
@1dv You can only make that assessment for yourself. You have no idea what I make or don’t make at SAS. You’ll say you do. But you don’t.
@1dv Could have retired 50 years ago if I had been born of rich parents. Coulda woulda shoulda.
Thanks anyway SAS. All your fault neither of those other things happened for me. I bear no responsibility for my choices.
“Could retire financially free last year if so chose. Thank you SAS”
You could have retired 10 years ago if you’d worked for a more generous tech employer. Thanks for the trickle down crumbs SAS.
@OP I agree with you. There will be more firm announcement of intentions sometime this year. The anniversary wouldn’t surprise me at all.
@q9 Could retire financially free last year if so chose. Thank you SAS.
@am Oh really??? I thought you were expecting to retire financially free after the IPO.
I predict he’ll have a pageant and introduce us to all the secret, and not so secret love children.
Those of us who still believe in "IPO-readiness" are having a harder and harder time defending the idea.
The simplest explanation for the slow process is incompetence. Many projects and processes at SAS were slow; this could be one more.
An alternative explanation is: they changed their minds, and decided to let their heirs inherit a mess.
That would not be so nice for the heirs. But hey, I wasn't expecting a large share anyway 😁.
I used to have hope of an IPO when it was first announced. Now, not so much. 5 years later and nada! Should have done it in the years following the announcement. The economy is going to be in a recession soon. No one is going to buy.
They missed the top of the software market again
I predict that an IPO will occur "next year" - just like the bars that advertise "free beer tomorrow".
Congratulations on 50 years !!! May you last past 100.
oh sure. that will happen right after pigs fly.
@a4 I knew the downvotes would be accompanied by statements of absolutes :).
Funny stuff Brother. No hand holding necessary.
Notice how mine was a prediction which by its very nature is not an absolute.
Brother keep on having absolute knowledge of things you can’t possibly have absolute knowledge of.
Brother, I'm going to hold your hand when I tell you this...there's not a chance in he-l we IPO in this market (if ever)
