Thread regarding Optum layoffs

04/30 Layoff Cycle Question

Will Optum Advisory be impacted by the 04/30 layoff cycle? Seems like we have dodged many cycles with minimal impact as we are most of the time pure profit, except people who are on the bench, so they are typically the ones cut if OA does have impact. Any insight for 04/30 cycle?

What does OA stand for in this context?

@b9 someone posted on another thread that there was a cycle today of layoff notice and the next notice date is 04/30. Have not heard dates beyond that from what I see, but I am not "in the know." It is just what I saw on threads on here.

@an any dates known for next rounds? I know April 30th was mentioned ? Optum Health ECS seems like it’s going to be hit soon. Anyone have info on plans for these remote clinical phone teams that support Caremount Medical providers?

@OP revenue neutral is NOT pure profit. The model will be to keep top brass but outsource everything <32 to India, maybe Ireland. OA is way too heavy with do nothing executives and there's no vision or real visionaries to grow external business.

No sense to have OA products in addition to OI. OI is going to shrink and major, long time, favored OA heads are going to roll and OA will get folded into Optum AI. Then, the likes of cognizant and wipro will be doing the "work" and 32+ people will be selling. It's going to be the end of OA.

GL30 here. OA leadership & a few from their team will be in the next RIF round. There are 4 more rounds in 2026. Cuts are deep, all grade levels, all departments (none excluded). Some depts will take bigger cuts than others.

Naysayers, stick around & you’ll see this is facts. This site has been spot on. I posted & originally gave the date of 3/5 and 3/19. Yes, I AM IN THE KNOW & 100% certain. This is facts

@a5 Former GL29. If you think the overt AI hype that runs rampant in the Optum leadership doesn't agree with my direct knowledge that AI use, Co-Pilot in day to day, was considered a KPI for 'success', feel free.
You should read around the industry news - you'd be better informed.

@a4 are you someone who is a GL30 and above who actually has concrete knowledge of this or random theorist? It sounds like you are someone with no direct knowledge, just making assumptions, which is fine but not what I am looking for. I am looking for a yes or no as I am being told if the area is impacted leadership would have already been asked for names, so they would know. If you are not leadership or knpw about OA, you are not who I am looking for to answer. Thanks though.

@a2 we use AI for a couple things but most stuff is all very manual or strategizing that AI is not doing. So are you saying OA is safe for April?

I'll give you a serious question, framed in a flippant way: Are you AI-ing your AI-ing?
The answer to that question should give you some idea of you relative safety.
