@OP you have no clue. Your parents might have told you you're special but not here.
@g1 10 years? or 10 Weeks?
If true, it only helps the stock price - thanks dan
@g1 if US won’t be impacted, you mean VZ India?
Agentic AI - for every human there is an agent. We all are part of huge workflow. Agentic AI is real, humans are replaceable. Working on next gen ai to replace more affordable “agentic ai” … aliens 👽 are helping me.
@g1 Agreed though I think it could be sooner than that
@fz all I’m saying is It’s VCG. US won’t be affected. I reckon within 10 years Verizon be gone from EMEA all together.
@fx Can you share what kind of role and org? VBG, GN&T, Network & Partner.... thanks
My AD confirmed 3/26 in VCG
@a4 yes this is true. I’m in the EMEA and was told it’s Thursday the 19th if we will have meeting with HR. Boss told me he has fought to keep me but have to now wait and see who they want to cut. Scary thing is I’m needed. Work is very busy
OP Where did you hear about this? Was it a credible source?
@ad EWC/WC members are officially under NDA until consultations conclude.
Why you are suggesting that the maximum is the baseline minimum in each country? That doesn't make much sense if they want laid-off employees off the books as quickly as possible to fulfil Q1 or Q2 OPEX cut targets preached by the Hatchet Man to please the Wall Street vultures and investors
@a4 What a bullsh-t you make, you must be in America and in denial about your own future. In EU it will take MONTHS before a deal is reached, like the other guy said. and guess what, Verizon will still have to pay all our salaries & benefits for that time ;)
@a4 speaking as someone based in EMEA, I find this hard to believe. the most they can do in each country is offer a "baseline severance package" with the minimum legal requirements but it isn't binding unless all EWC and local WC have approved it. and that takes MONTHS (between 2-4). now one could argue that they've done this already but the WC is made up of literal employees in addition to representatives from the business so the cat would be out of the bag (to use Darko's phrasing) much earlier.
@OP These layoffs in March are for EMEA only. Looking like next week they will be told if they’re safe or not.
