We had to literally buy the second car to our family just because I have to commute 5 days a week different way than my partner. We couldn't share the car anymore. Now imagine how much it costs our family month and all of the emissions.. this is crazy.

You had to buy another car? Look at the Stank stimulating the economy. Well done.
Its bad for my golf games and trips to Costco.

To all those saying "Just get another car... boohoo..." Well, first, that wasn't a problem when you felt your job was safe. But we're now in a company that lays people off every 5 seconds. There is no stability. No guarantee. So... great, commit yourself to a 5-year loan on a car. And then, what do you do if a few months later, you're laid off? Well, now you're stuck with a car note. That is why there's resistance to just 'getting a second car'.
Imagine being this entitled. Middle finger up.
@ct no way, little man. Now you quit your crying and get back to your truck. I have a ticket for you to work.
@b0 pot meet kettle. let’s start by getting rid of you since you’re complaining right now.
@ap we used to ride a horse 100 yrs ago... we didn't have computers, it's a different century boomer
@b0 what whining? last 8 years i was remote and hybrid and company was happy. These RTO mandates are not only stealing my time every day on unnecessary commute but also stealing my money that I could use for my family. Especially nowadays when everything got so ridiculously expensive!
@OP I've never seen such a group of people whining about having a real job and having to work. I'd get rid of every one of them.
@aq I can’t afford a car on my current salary here
@a4 do you even work here or just troll? It was just revealed that both golf and tennis will be offered at the new Plano office. Please try to keep up. Your golf and tennis argument just died
@ap show us on the doll where Stankey touched you and tell us what he promised you in return for letting him. Your vouching for him shows what a weak submissive pathetic man you are. SAD!
As an adult you should have a your own car anyway.
Kindly return to the office without sniveling. Been done for 100 years. It has to be better than being home unemployed and then you can sell the extra car. Covid is finally over. See you at the water cooler
If the work can be done remotely, the environmental and financial cost of forcing presence makes zero sense.
Completely agree. Five-day RTO isn’t just a workplace policy, it’s a financial and environmental mandate people didn’t ask for. Forcing families to buy a second car, pay for insurance, gas, maintenance, parking, and absorb hours of commute time every week is a real cost that never shows up on a balance sheet.
And on the environmental side, it’s hard to talk about sustainability while simultaneously requiring thousands of additional daily commutes. More cars on the road, more emissions, more fuel consumption, all for work that can often be done just as effectively remotely. That disconnect is what makes it so frustrating.
"over 80% of the world still works from home at least two days a week"
Let go of your fantasy. Learn to focus.
@ae over 80% of the world still works from home at least two days a week. You’re totally delusional. It must be a lot for you trying to generate a false pro-RTO consensus. Nobody believes you. We know you’re the “first” guy also. Total tool with no life. Pathetic.
Yep. Most people work 40 hour weeks somewhere. Walk into just about any business and you'll find someone who had to figure out a way to get to work that day.
Golf and tennis and shopping during the day sure was fun while it lasted!
Welcome back to the real world, champ!
@OP Your partner had a transportation problem, not you. You should have taken the car and let your partner work out their own commute. Wish you would have asked me sooner.
super original and never-before-heard hot take! how long did it take you?
@a4 little man detected, opinion rejected
@a1 generous?? lol this isn’t even comparable to tech industry comp
RTO is bad for golf and tennis games.
I hear ya, but this just in:
Nobody Cares.
In that case, should outlaw uber and lyft first
You will only continue to receive the generous salary you do if you meet in office requirements.
