Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

CSBBO location strategy update email

As part of our multi-year strategy, we have made the decision to exit previous target locations over the next few years. Non-target markets include:
• Wilmington, Delaware
• St. Louis, Missouri
• New York, New York
• Salt Lake City, Utah
• Raleigh, North Carolina
• San Francisco, California (including Concord)
• Chicago, Illinois
If you are not in one of our target locations, please know that there are no immediate changes to your day-to-day responsibilities or where you work-business will continue as usual as we work through this multi-year journey.

Does anyone understand the ramifications of this for someone in Tech considering moving to the SLC (Main St) location? Am I understanding that they may be shutting down the location?

@f2+1kg0mssmq

They don't care, in the slightest. There's a massive push to colocate entire teams that used to be geographically distributed. Does that sound like the actions of someone that cares about BCP and resilience?

@bd They can’’t fully staff in 2 offshore locations. It creates concentration risk. Another pandemic or major weather event would take out half the work force.

Does no more global OPS mean these sites are full closing down? SLC, SF, Raleigh and Chicago? Also, the email said these are target/core locations for CSBBO: Iowa, Dallas, San Antonio, Virginia, Charlotte NC, Phoenix (I may have forgotten one or two)

Just another phase in the fake location strategy. It's an excuse people. That's all it's ever been. The "location" WF is pulling out of is the United States. The road to get there will be littered with an ever changing list of "approved locations", which will inevitably be shut down one by one until it's all gone. I don't care if you location has 50 people or 10,000. They all go.

All operations groups sent out similar emails today. The enterprise won’t have operations in those locations any longer, and it will take several years to fully be implemented.

The individual emails also said that these are ops decisions only, and have nothing to do with where other business functions may or may not choose to operate.

@ab CSBBO is the Ops team for CSBB.

To further add to this, all Ops (Global Ops) is pulling out of SF, SLC, Raleigh and Chicago. Meaning no ops regardless of LOB they serve.
