I was so fed up with the work and the constant anticipation of losing my job that I'd lost any motivation to work extra-hard. And I constantly felt guilty about it. As if being a hard worker would've made any difference. We all saw today that being good at your job means literally nothing. Anyway, I'm off. Good luck to everyone. The only good memories are the nice coworkers I met along the way.

@cm exactly what I said by absorbed back into the coffers. Apologies if that wasn’t clear. Company keeps. Of course it can’t be distributed to others which was the plan to save $$ with the timing of this RIF
And they made it clear that you could not redistribute since it would put your “pool” in the negative
Glad to be leaving this corrupt, dysfunctional company!
@a4 you will only receive severance and the now unused merit and RRP can not be allocated to others remaining on that team.
@a4 Nope. RRP is absorbed back into the coffers. For that and stocks or vesting only the C suite got their golden parachutes. For all else they are now not employees at the time of that payout so very purposeful timing.
I feel this. The anxiety of waiting to see what happens is ki-ling me.
Do you get your RRP since layoff with severance is happening between Jan 1 and payout date?
What part of Optum and which dept did you work for? Telecommute? Office? Location? Good luck on your next adventure.
Good luck to you! I am sure you will land a way better opportunity soon!
@OP good luck to you!!
