@48n Direct Network Groups. These were small or individual physician groups that were acquired by Wellmed.

@2x3 just throwing it out there - this is a BAD thing for any PBMs to comment on. Yes, these comments are anonymous - but come on. It’s a tiny world the contracted markets works within. And no - if you aren’t an RN or CPC certified you actually can not educate a provider regarding coding or documentation standards in the same way. Our skills have been underutilized. Everyone’s skill set is different and we are all limited by the fact that our hands are often tied. Seriously though - the comment from PBMs here is pretty much “ick”. I have a lot I could say with the PBM role and Operations as a whole that would be very critical - but I won’t .

@2wg again, there is a reason why RA was gutted and PBMs were. Im not attacking, Im honestly being pragmatic. AI can 100% do what RA does. Again sorry you think Im attacking you.

@26j not to sound condescending back, but RA in most cases are clinically trained (RN and such) and that knowledge with application and next steps cannot be programmed adequately. Facts and stats can be programmed whereas the application becomes trickier. RA could be cross-trained to be provider facing…

@b7 without sounding condescending PBMs bring way more value than RA. Unfortunately AI can do what RA does…PBMs are people facing first. AI can’t do that.

Any talks about WellMed’s Population Health Management program in Texas? We’re terrified every day.

The WM office space in Austin that housed the CM team was cleaned out a few months ago.

@bf They were waiting for us to finish our 2025 work, I don't really believe in coincidences that this is happening right after pencils down, there's probably going to be a massive hit to quality tomorrow :(

In all honesty, I thought PBMS would be let go way before RA. I thought quality would be the ones to go first, but then again, the quality department in our market is practically gone, either way down to 2 onsite nurses, soooo who knows. centerwell here we come.

@bg the San Antonio Corporate office lost about 85% of their DataRAP/Provider Educators last month. I sure hope DataRAP in SA is not hit again

@bg I know we have been ramping up nursing roles in the Phillippines, probably to absorb this work.

@a4 WellMed office space outside of San Antonio is already pretty much gone I believe.

@a5 It's possible RA at the San Antonio Corporate office may be impacted tomorrow. I don't think they had much of a layoff in December at that site. I really don't know though. I'm only guessing here - but my instinct is that a reorg is coming soon for the few field based RA nurses that remain. I'm very worried for our Quality nurses tomorrow. The stress and anxiety is almost unbearable at this point. All I can say is..... the WellMed we knew is gone. The job description for anyone with WellMed still standing at the end of it all is likely changing pretty drastically. The changes that have already impacted the different departments makes it impossible to think we'll continue on in the same way as before. Tough times for sure. :(

So nerve wracking! It stinks going to work not knowing if you have a future. On top of that, even if it’s not you or your department now, it could be in 2 weeks.

@a4 What else can they do with RA? Last month they let go of every DataRAP nurse in every Texas market except for one per market! :O

Tomorrow for Texas. Quality and Risk Adjustment will be impacted by a re-org to Optum or an RIF. Clinic staff will continue to be reduced, as has been the case with previous RIFs. Wellmed building will be empty soon at this rate.
