as a remote employee i’m surprised they haven’t asked all remote employees (yet) to return to office or resign as a first wave. that way they’d save $ with paying out severance. i know they have asked specific roles to do so but not yet company wide. i’ve been waiting for the other ball to drop since hybrid RTO

Soft RTO has already happened. I was an AB at target and remote and was given a choice to either voluntarily resign within 30 Days or move back into office within 6 months back in May. I told leaders that I was moving back but found a new role locally and left the company.
@a4 Or at least scroll through the existing threads where this has been discussed to keep it all in one? Some folks have been asking the same questions to things already discussed; forcing others to have to repeat themselves. You may have been downvoted, but I understand where you are coming from.
When this is all over, this entire section for 2025 will look like the Dead Sea Scrolls!!!
I keep hearing "remote employees are not being promoted" but one of my remote coworkers was just promoted (in an IC role to L7) in the last couple of weeks.
They just don’t have enough space in the offices to mandate a company wide RTO. My guess is leaders for sure tho.
From what I understand, Target has had remote employees before COVID WFH so I'm assuming it's not a special circumstance
Can we stop asking this question.
I think it comes early next year so we can start the year strong, together. And I agree I think that it’s team dependent but I anticipate being called in soon.
@a1 Depends upon the org. I've seen multiple remote folks be promoted over the past 6 months.
Soft "RTO" has already begun. They aren't promoting remote TMs and several teams have started to either issue RTO or hire more HQ candidates inorder for RTO mandate implementation easier.
