Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

I love my in-office days!

Our team has it figured out. Since leadership wants us to collaborate face to face, we all show up around 9:30-10:00 a.m. to avoid traffic, stand around visiting for a few hours, all go out to 2 hour team lunches (the restaurants around the office are so much better than in our suburbs!), come back and visit some more, and leave around 2:00 p.m.

Office days are the best!

One remote employee basically is busy dropping kids till 9:30 am - then clocks in rarely on teams - then gym from 11-2. Then busy picking up kids and cooking chicken for dinner. Ummm he is the most favorite employee and is safe.

@a4 We didn't have any layoffs at all on my team. Apparently we can get away with it. Cry harder.

@a4 Performance had nothing to do with who was laid off

@a4 You do realize that they aren't using criteria like this for the current RIFs, right? They are indiscriminately taking out hundreds of hard working dedicated employees this week.

And when you’re laid off because you’re in a do nothing job you will expect sympathy.

go to office. Pay $15 for parking or $13 for metra. Spend half and hr or 2 hr driving / waiting for bus to 300 e randolph. finally at work pull up teams and talk "face to face" with coworker in another state/another country. Notice talking too loud because another coworker in another dept is just shoulder length away so look for a "focus room". Continue to work. buy food at cafeteria or somewhere close (Mayor Johnson) would be happy. Leave arround 3 to avoid traffic.. but still get stuck in traffic anyways (1 to 2 hrs to get back home). Arrive at home, its gotten dark.

Next day notice email that says there's a meeting. Yeah....also, notice email saying that Hcsc cares for its employees while knowing a long-time coworker was just let go. There's your work life balance.
