169, 219 is stuck for a couple of hours already. Looks like first round in NA is complete. Next presumably other regions which we can catch by spikes in timezones assuming layoffs start in the morning.
169, 219 in general and 52,382 in industries.
I imagine the finance teams will be impacted in the next few days once the earnings are released. They won’t layoff finance yet when they need them to finalise that earnings release
@b4 Wrong. It happens in all/many countries. I've seen 100+ deactivated Slack accounts in my LOB, but only a few of those were in the US. I haven't heard of a single country where Slack isn't deactivated immediately, but there may of course be exceptions.
Access to email and other accounts seems to be country specific.
@a4 Only US employees lose access immediately, in other countries they still have it for few weeks after receiving notice.
It's definitely slowing down in America, we talking dozens laid of per hour, not hundreds as yesterday
@a5 169.205 now ....
@a3 169.215
68 laid off for the past 1.5h, which is just east coast
Tracking is easy with writing down participants count in #general slack channel, as it reflects loss of access and is the best real-time approximation available.
September 2nd night started with 172796, now it's 169220
If anyone within Oracle doesn't mind having a look at Oracle One #general slack channel and giving us a membership count...yesterday it seems like about 4,000 were impacted. We appreciate it.
