Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Is there some kind of post layoff HR portal?

I got laid off and got no off boarding information today. My manager told me to hand in my laptop and expect to get my paycheck end of the month. I would like to get all my HR stuff like 401k details and my paystubs

@c1 I think the story to investors is they’re gutting the “old bny” and bringing in the “new bny”

When I was laid off earlier this year, the following day I received a link with information. I had to register and then I could view my separation package and there are forms that need to be digitally signed/acknowledged.

I worked in a department that was allotted 40 staff members.

From March 2023 to February 2025 there were a combined 47 or 48 resignations, same-day-quitting, terminations or layoffs. This was the most insane department I have ever witnessed.

So yes, BNY does not know how to recruit.

@c1 it doesnt help when all you have to go by is the fluff told during interviews cause they know how to tell you what you want to hear and its awful when they hit the floor. Then it takes forever to get them out of here. They need to get feedback from prior businesses. PA is one of the worst places ive ever seen candidates come out of

If I were an investor in this company I would be quite troubled by the apparent inability of HR to hire competent employees. If 25% of the people they bring in are poor performers and must be let go, what does that say about their ability to adequately vet potential employees during the interview process? Also, since forced rankings seem to be prevalent here, it would stand to reason that 25% of employees MD and up should also get the boot?

HR portal?
You are fired. This place gives you nothing after that. That’s all they care about.
HR is garbage.

There is only onboarding with a menu for new benefits and procedures. No need for offboarding. Cutting their losses.

No the Hr mo--ns were supposed to tell you what the exit plan is. Most have been told they are getting a package in the mail to review and complete and i dont think you can take 401k money until atleast 30 days after

Coworker of mine got let go today too, after 20 years and probably forgot more about their job(s) than the majority of the people in this company will ever know. It’s saddening. Hope you find something even better where you’re respected, paid generously and actually have a CEO who sees you more as a dedicated worker than just a replaceable number
