Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Sounds Like the Shotg-n Wedding (TSMC+Intel) is Back ON!

Let's be honest... the US Gov't was never not have a homegrown fab mfg network. It was just waiting how it would play out... first it was CHIPs money... that didn't work. Then it was throwing it some guaranteed NSA/Military money... that didn't work. Now, learning just how incompetent IFS has been over the last five years... it's down to brass tacks. Shotg-n wedding with TMSC and the ugly step sister bride Intel.

Will this be good for America... prob yes. Will this be good for Intel shareholders... prob not, since IFS is less than worthless and will be basically given away to TSMC for nothing (let's just hope Intel doesn't have to pay a dowry to take the tu-d). Would it be good for existing IFS employees... lol, they should've taken the buyout before just getting fired with nothing. Intel shareholders just hope TSMC will "pay" in some shares for IFS, and pray that Intel Products can be a legacy embedded play unless they got a back room quantum computing project going.

Is OP suggesting that TSMC got Intel knocked up?

That would explain the moodiness and tendency to projectile vomit employees every so often.

Plus that weird obsession with ice creme and pickles..but never in the fab because that would not end well.

One of the deal conditions is that RA4 be turned into a Hotel, covered in gold leaf.

'It will be the most beautiful fab-hotel in the world'

@ak Let's be honest, Intel doesn't understand jack sh-t about any type of technology let alone semiconductor manufacturing thus will continue to make incompetent decisions about any and all technology henceforth.

@an Well that's only a temporary solution. The so-called govt 'officials' will figure out a way line their own pockets with that $. Then a new sh---y board is hired on to further tank the company. It's just one big infinite circlej--k

The Government couldn't passably do a worse job as Intel's current Board Of Directors. Fu-k it, let the gov take over and fire everyone at the top. That alone will save hundreds of millions in executive salary & perks.

@a4, Yes you are correct but nobody on the outside really knows right now where this is going to end up at, when I say outside that’s anyone below the ELT. Yes we can all read the articles and some can even post links on here to the articles which are coming fast and furious because what else are they going to write about. Everything is just speculation and rumors at this point even if you try to read between the lines. Is this going to end up well my instincts say no but that’s my speculation, hope I’m wrong.

@a2 It's the "rumor" that's been swirling around since Feb. And with LBT publically coming out and saying if they can't line up some customers for 14A, IFS is basically going to get shut down (if you read between the lines).

The problem is IFS products are SOOOOO bad that even Trump trying to arm twist Nvidia, AVAGO, Microsoft, Amazon, Google or Meta to use IFS for anything, even old legacy designs... nothing, zip, zilch, nada. Nvidia wouldn't even throw Intel any old legacy GPU design bone to IFS that's prob more of a distraction than profit driver for them today... if they did, it would at least save face for IFS... but nope.
