We have someone in the Minneapolis office that never comes in three days a week and she was just promoted because she’s her managers favorite. It’s pathetic.

I was WFH long before COVID. COVID didn't do anything but prove beyond any doubt that offices are a waste of money. Later, it "ending" was an excuse for RTO which is NOT about 'getting people that abused it back to work'. It's a scheme to motivate people to quit and to provide fake excuses for firing otheres. That's it, and nothing else.

"And it's compliant people to blame for the fact that we have RTO at all. If zero people complied, they would have bailed on the scheme, but here we are asking for another level of BS from our overlords."

This is utter nonsense. It's people who aren't compliant, who abused WFH that have led us to this situation. COVID absolutely ki-led a good thing for those that were responsible and hard working. And you can see it on this forum with your posts and many like them. People abused the system so the parents had to take away our toys.

I am a huge proponent of remote work. I have been working remote longer than probably 80% of the company has been employed. I've run large teams of 100% remote people and watched them be successful. That said, I'd probably fire 90% of the people that post in this forum. It is staggering how entitled this community is.

And for those saying they aren't tracking - I can tell you that is patently false. I was getting badge reports 2 years ago. They showed each employee and whether they were in the office. Through a little trial and error we were able to figure out that being in the office was 4 hours/day. Show up at 8 and leave at 11:59 and you get no credit. Show up at 8 and leave at 12:01 and you get full credit. Also, PTO (full day or half day) gave you credit. Now, the reports we used were LOB specific. Can't comment on whether every area tracks or how they track or what qualifies as a day in the office.

My manager doesn't give a fck, but we do comply to going 3 days a week. I go 4 days a week but only stay for a few hours. Never got flagged for not staying half a day or the whole day.

“Productivity software has been available for years. They have it, but don't do anything with it until an HR case is opened.”

It hasn’t at WF. Look up Sapience. It is going to be rolled out shortly. It will be used to measure staffing levels and reporting of in office expectations.

Big bro is coming. Fiserv implemented it (CEO is former JPMorgan) to emulate what JPMorgan is doing with their WADU platform. Now Scharf is bringing it in to WF.

It will be used to track team sizing and the “quiet quitters” for layoffs/terminations.

this requirement is not in writing anywhere--not posted by HR. Kinda hard to enforce!!
Agreed that this requirement varies by LOB and mgr. #wellsfargoshitshow

I still think it'll be LOB dependent. Productivity software has been available for years. They have it, but don't do anything with it until an HR case is opened. They know exactly what websites you're going to, what apps are being used, etc. It's another job dependency because a lot of us are on phone calls, not on teams. There will have to be smoke before they look for the fire

Depends on the department. My boss honestly doesn’t care. They have too much work and knows the team is busy regardless of location. But then you have the admin of the higher up boss being the puppet and telling people what to do when they themselves are listed as remote on teamworks. I can’t roll my eyes any further up then they currently go.

Depends. If you are a top performer or a DEI hire you will get special privileges. Everyone else is fair game.

My boss is a hawk over those reports.

Yes, people can and have been placed on corrective action due to missing in office expectations.

Absolutely nothing. Nothing happens. I haven't gone in 3 days a week, ever. If I go in, I stay for 20 min. Nothing has ever happened.

“Also, the hours per day thing is LOB specific”

For now. Even within LOBs who are underway implementing full day requirements, it is being added in waves (OC -2).

It’s coming for pretty much everyone though. How strict they will be is unknown. But new productivity measuring software is also coming and we won’t get notice when it’s installed and monitoring us.

We'll never know until it happens. They've been talking about it for awhile. Could be you automatically top out at Inconsistently Meets or no bonus or up to termination. This would be for performance and would not qualify for severance. Eventually, they'll do something and could be this year.

Also, the hours per day thing is LOB specific.

“This is false. I coffee badge three days a week and have never been told this is not acceptable.”

It is because of people like you they are cracking down on it. Time in office reporting is being rolled out. It’s only a matter of time before you receive formal notice.

I don’t pretend to understand. Yes a half day counts for an in office day. And yet department by department, 8 working hour days (excluding lunch) as the expectation is being rolled out.
