I’m going to be watching the managers like crazy today. It will be really obvious if they have an HR coaching on how to fire people.
Anyone know how long the HR meeting is?My manager doesn’t really have meetings today

The managers in my group were ghosts today then they came back and seemed fine.
@ap blocked calendars don't mean much when it's a know fact that meetings increased exponentially after 2020
Just look at your managers calendar in outlook. If they blocked a good chunk of today and tomorrow, more than likely an indicator they are getting trained up on what to say and have no emotional capacity to meet with anyone else
@ac Not true. I had to be coached on what to say during a layoff years ago. Legal liabilities dictate the necessity.
My team was laid off once and it was the skip level that delivered the message. No HR at all
@ac there are talking points distributed and a script given for manager lead meetings with the folks left behind for groups that are impacted. This is the case for RIFs, relocation announcements, and even VBO. They want to make sure the same message is put out there and not someone's editorial comments that can get the firm in hot water. You are correct though. The actual RIF conversation with the person to be cut is done by an HR person
@a3 maybe he's pi---d that no work is getting done because of the pearl clutching and hand wringing over RTO
Managers don't have prep meetings to fire you. I've experienced this before I've been laid off from fidelity and came back since you can't find jobs in ri . You simply get pulled into a meeting with HR while your boss sits there silent with a d-mb look . Bosses can't fire you they are not coached. Hr is paid to do this. Whoever is posting this cr-p is full of sh-t where managers are getting coached. Lol!
@a3 yup easiest way to identify who "knows" is body language yesterday and today
Our CL looked like they had been crying
My managers calendar is busy throughout the day until 4:30 pm
and he appeared visibly glum in meetings yesterday so there’s truth
