Everyone, I’m joining citi in Canada. The main office is in Mississauga, located in west end of the city. They do have an office in a relatively well connected Downtown Area. Will they let people work from the DT office? Can people in Canada chime in? Thank you!!

@w8 legend! Thank you so much for your response! Much appreciated
@OP The answer is "no" - you cannot simply just report to a closer office. You have to be provisioned in that office, you have to be given access to that office and the primary business that works out of that building (or floor) must allow it.
Can you request to work out of that office and let the process work? The answer is "yes"
@jb another unwanted response. Scroll if you don’t have an answer. We don’t need your opinion.
Suggest you look for a new job located in downtown, so you don't need to look for ways to meet your personal requirement before starting this job.
I'm not in Canada but my line of work sometimes requires me to liase with tech folks based out of Mississauga. If you're in tech, there's no way you will be allowed to work from elsewhere if the offer was from a team based out of Mississauga. Again..second hand knowledge only
Generally you aren't allowed to work from the Downtown Toronto office if your acceptance is for the Mississauga office. People have asked leadership in previous town halls and the answer was no.
But I've been hearing some exceptions are being raised and approved, so your mileage will vary.
@OP+1kd997wga : Its a good question, there are some people work from Toronto, but its all about politics. all major banks works from Toronto downtown.
@a3 you must be an American with the kind of entitlement. Real mature response. OP used this forum to ask a genuine question, answer if you know, else scroll away
Moderator seems to be mad again. “Sod off”….must be from the UK.
Such a childish response. At the count of 3, don’t forget to delete the post you don’t like moderator…1….2….
@a1 fu-k all reply. OP asked a genuine question. Answer if you can else sod off.
Why do you ask such question when you know where the job is located when offer was made. Ridiculous.
