Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Take advantage of outplacement services

People often ignore these or maybe are too proud or whatever, but these can be invaluable. They certainly were to me when I was laid off from my last job.

@a3: as of 2020 this is the 5th year and you are continuing to work fulltime?

@a3: are you working again? Worked 18-years for Verizon until the year 2020? Did the outplacement service help with your current job?

I'm not sure what will be included in the package, but for those who've been in the same position for over a decade, resume help and interview preparation can make all the difference, for example. I was laid off in 2020 after 18 years at the same job. I had no idea if interview process was the same as it was when I last applied, if things had changed, since nearly two decades is a long time. It helped a lot getting to practice before I got into it.

@OP: for example, what is a real life and tangible outplacement service?
