All the 40+ middle managers survived while most L2s and some L4s in my department got the axe. How did your department fair?

40+ is an age protected class. Theres often a mathematical balance to finalizing a group in layoffs.

Our area was mostly L5/L6 IC's. Kicker is they are now adding another layer with new L8 Sr Directors. How TF are people getting promos rn?!?!?

It’s sad that the people who actually did the grunt work got axed why the uptalk word salad Annie’s and Alan’s were spared.

@a2 Looks like the lower level people were fed to the wolves in order to save all the $150,000+ salaries. I strongly suspect WHO was laid off was curated within the department itself.
