Even knowing it's over? I still can't get rid of this knot in my stomach.

Target had another round of layoffs that summer of 2015. There was a second round then and there will probably be a second round in this situation. Despite being “safe” for now, I’m still going to start exploring other options.
It’s still possible for more in January. That way the expenses can be accrued in FY 2025.
@a9 this is the first time I’m hearing after March 31st as opposed to January or February
@a3 so, Site Merch? I’m trying to think who is else critical for Q4. Most other positions do their holiday work several months in advance but SM can’t.
One day at a time. Thats the best way going forward.
After surviving 2015 layoffs, I immediately started looking for a new role and left. The people left to pick up the pieces face months of heartache and overwhelming sense of loss all while being tasked with picking up the pieces.
@a8 I can't say much but I can assure layoffs will happen anytime after March 31st....keep your head up
@a3 any insight on early 2026 layoffs? Is it a broad sweep or certain lines?
@a3 what teams/orgs would be at risk of that?
@a3 would that include PPCOE?
@a3 You're right Target isn't out the clear yet, wouldn't shock me if more layoffs are company but honestly I don't see the company being around within 5 years. Target is to far behind logically compared to Walmart and Amazon. Target will have a quick end, ala Kmart
@OP As much as I don't want anyone to get laid off, I know there are team members around me that kept there jobs that are absolutely useless.
I need Target to start hiring talented people. We are in for a slow, miserable decline if we don't. I am not looking forward to carrying on at Target, but I also need to wait for a new opportunity. Plan to send out a job application every couple of days from here on out, and fake it at work best I can.
Of course not. I already know that additional layoffs are coming in early 2026 for teams that were too critical for Q4. Very unmotivated for the long hours to come in Nov/Dec with that as the reward. Will be setting very firm work life balance boundaries this year.
Nope. Just because we weren’t in the line of fire today, doesn’t mean it won’t be us tomorrow.
Takes days to get over a metaphorical public hanging if not weeks or months.
