Why do we foreigners running Verizon. Are they the fall guys and/or they have no emotional ties to Americans and could care less if we suffer. Oh, and they are great bootlickers. They would never bite the hand the feeds.

@OP that might be the reason, he was open about, absolutely ready for layoffs and we/his-panel don’t care, be prepared for RIF on name of TIMEZONE, foreign countries getting jobs and US Employees RIF.

Replaced by an actual engineer, a PhD engineer no less!

That's who you want leading a large engineering organization, not a guy with a business degree. Although a bit young I think for such a role (16 years of experience).
