Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

"Fiscal 2026 Oracle Restructuring Plan" anyone else notice the wording change in the 10-Q?

Normally Oracle has a 2 year restructuring plan (e.g. 2022 and 2024 plans).
However, in the latest 10-Q, this is now labelled as "Fiscal 2026 Oracle Restructuring Plan". Check it yourself at investor.oracle.com under SEC filings; top of page 11 of the latest 10-Q.

This clarifies that the residual of the $2.1bn available (over $1.1bn) is planned to be spent before the end of the fiscal (in the next 10-11 weeks).

Those calling it a 2-year plan that might run to the end of FY27 are missing this.

Stop nit picking the financial reports. The company has a bloated workforce and it is going to be drastically cut. It is going to be hard to find another job. Those are the facts. The people trying to analyze the financial report to determine down to the penny how many people can be let go are example of the type of people who should be let go. You are unable to see the real problem when it is right in front of you. The reality is this is probably one of the worst times for this to happen in the past quarter century and you should be focusing on what your next moves are to protect yourself and your families. I doubt this is in the latest Oracle financial report. Even if you survive this round of layoffs there are likely to be more to follow.

The company can change the plan. They just need to report it. The next quarterly report could have a line item that added however much money they needed to spend to unload people this quarter. As long as the books balance and they report the money earned and how it was spent they are in compliance.

No its not May 2027. Its May 2026. Oracle's fiscal 2026 starts in Aug 2025 and ends in May 2026.

The plan has always been called "Fiscal 20xx Restructuring Plan". So this is still just the plan that was created at the start of FY2026 (hence the name), and it could run to the end of FY2027 (May 2027).

However, in light of the need to shed costs to help fund the burden of AI infrastructure spending, there is an expectation that this fund will be largely depleted sooner rather than later.
