Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Balance Transfer Upsell what a joke

So for those that don't know there will be a lot of upselling for Balance Transfers starting in March. They'll try to bait you, "we are offering 0% Balance Transfers with a fee of 4.99%, will you be willing to take this offer?" lol

This is supposedly US Bank's leadership goals for 2026. They want the reps to hit 70% and try to upsell to customers that don't need to do balance transfers. Also, once you find out how Balance Transfers work you'll be kicking yourself paying more in Interest and paying the bank more than what you asked for.

Do operations managers think this is a smart move? Guarantee this will fail. They predict these sells through their programs lol. smh GK is d-mb as a brick to think this will help them

@a2 You seem truly ignorant about how business works. Front line workers are expected to retain customers and work to expand that customer relationship (offer additional products and services, etc.). This is VERY BASIC customer service in any business.

I’m not sure that you understand how this works…..

This isn’t a new tactic. When you understand how the bank makes money and the income received from credit card balances alone, you’ll understand why the push. Most people who take advantage won’t have it paid off by the time the offer expires. So we get a fee and interest. Also, consumer behavior knows that if you save money with 0% you are statistically more likely to spend more, and guess which card you’ll use?

@a2 many credit cards in Mexico are over 50% interest. The U.S. Bank offering seems competitive considering mortgage rates are near 5%. Certainly not third world rates or even second world rates.

It can be beneficial (but not alway) for a customer to do a balance transfer even with the fees associated. I am assuming this is your first sales position? Get a job that doesn’t involve sales if you don’t want to explain the benefits of our products and services.

Should surprise no one we are implementing third world scam tactics given our leaders are third worlders. Import the third world become the third world.
