Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Wheel will turn for ELT

We work for a greedy, immoral company. I will openly admit that I am too nervous to move after 5 years. I am a coward.

This new comp plan is the final straw for me. And before you knock sales people, remember that 40% of our salary is at risk and we have no control
over what ships.

I never imagined working for a company that I now want to see fail so badly. I never thought it was possible to wish the worst on JC, MD and the rest of those pasty-faced, smug money-grubbers and their rubber-faced spouses.

@cs you’re an insecure troll. A post like this is a poor attempt to make your insecurity. You’re as worried about it as the rest of us, but you’re angrier. Probably have mummy issues. Possibly abused when you were a child.

Get the help you need. You may find your post hilarious, but nobody else does.

Y’all complain far too much. If you can’t cut it, hit the bricks pal. If you don’t like it, hit the bricks pal. I drove here in a $300k Mercedes, you drove here in a Hyundai. 1st place, Tesla model Y, 2nd place set of steak knives, 3rd place you’re fired.

Hit the bricks if you don’t like it y’all.

@a9 That's insanity. I'd say it's quite literally just stealing money from employees tbh... My friend always hated how he wouldn't get paid out until it was shipped, which seems ridiculous to me considering the deal was made, the money transfered accounts, and etc... Since when was shipping anybody's fault other than... the shipping department lol? You should get paid off the deals, not when sh-t ships out

@a8 Correct. We used to earn from dollar one. Now you earn nothing before 60%

I'm not in sales but it seems like a LOT of the posts here are sales related...

From my understanding, those in sales have a base salary that is guarenteed, and then a commision based off of hitting certain quota marks, correct? My friend was in sales at dell and he'd always say his "salary" was a 70/30. 70% slary, 30% commision.

So, is the new comp plan essentially striplping ALL commision if you don't hit a certain number, now?

I have never seen a company so bad and senior leaders have no clue how bad the morale is.They are gambling with peoples lives here.If they need to reduce numbers this is a drastic way to do it.
But if they dont care about customers why would they care about staff?
We have become a massive ship that has has no real direction and now they look set to punish the the last crew members that have stayed on board trying to keep the ship afloat.
Hopefully the ship now sinks and the captain goes with it.

The gaslighting on that call was off the charts.

Agreed, Dell showed it true colors. Very out of taste for the economy we are in! People literally will have trouble buying groceries to their families. This should get out to the news!
