Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

“Advancing Workforce Strategy” email from Mike

Layoffs are coming. The vagueness of the email is beyond frustrating. The timeline is beyond confusing as well… 24 months?

Anyone have insider knowledge about which teams/departments?

LoL the audacity to have a meeting to “clarify” the meeting and just lie.

Blackbaud used their own employees to train Indian employees so they could replace them. Full stop. That was always the intent.

To say it’s because of Indias “large talent pool” is also saying the employees you have are not as talented. Given that we were the ones duped into training them, we know their worth, and it’s less.

This is and has always been about greed and cheap labor. Get your resume ready, hope to work for a better company.

@a2 workforce strategy e-mail that boils down to "we're going to leverage AI and India to replace expensive US employees over the next 24 months". Straight up said you'll unfortunately be saying goodbye to great employees.

Shouldn’t have to say this but DO NOT share how long you’ve been at Blackbaud. But yeah, anyone with several years should fear this because Blackbaud has made it clear they’d rather pay someone less to do a job in 5 hours that would take an experienced person 1 hour to do. Typical Blackbaud, always tripping over a dollar to save a dime.

For those of us on PTO, what are the takeaways?

That email came across as surprisingly tone-deaf. It appears to signal an acceptance, if not an expectation, that the U.S. will lose experienced, high-quality talent over 24 months. While transparency is generally positive, the message effectively leaves U.S.-based employees in prolonged uncertainty about their job security, potentially for years. In that sense, it reads less as reassurance and more as an implicit prompt for people to consider leaving before facing a potential layoff. Good luck to my friends in the US. It’s a terrible job market right now, and unless you are an ELT member, your job is likely on the chopping block for consideration.
