If notice period in my case is 2 months, does it mean they would put me on garden leave for those two months and pay the package afterwards?
Or would I receive the pay for those two months plus the package in one go?

@bj There is no other country in Europe that fits your description so yes, it's Switzerland or no, you wrote something which isn't truth.
it doesn't matter actually as your goal was to not to reveal location however answers be also wrong since infromations you provided is false.
@b8 nice try but no.
@a7 based on Grok - you are Switzerland - employed less than 10 years and more than 3
No and No.. few people were laid off in Bratislava this way, 2 months garden leave and FU, no package. Some exceptions apply to those being at Dell for over a decade. Thanks to Tech. Unions.
I got 6 months garden leave plus the package. The package was paid out after three months of garden leave.
Either way you'll get paid for the notice period + severance.
Whether garden leave is even an option depends on local laws and regulations.
Is voluntary separation coming for all European locations?
@a2 It’s a very small country so I will keep it a secret otherwise it will be very easy to identify me 😅 but the local legislation is two months notice period for the amount of years that I’ve worked for the company.
And that is all! The company is not required to pay anything. We don’t have any unions here or laws that would protect us from being laid off. It’s not like France, Germany or Ireland. I can disclose that much.
But those who have been laid off did get severance. Same rules as per the US. I’m just curious if they also got the notice period pay. I never asked.
It will depend on your local legislation and your job role. Which country?
I guess US folk can also answer. Do you get your two weeks plus the package?
