Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

lol, I was contacted too by a contractor for a project impossible for att, but possible from me, based on my ideas and projected needs for the org. I was given the severance last year. The contractor told me he was given a list of former att employees that knew about the efforts, but I was the most ideal for the job. The contractor called me back and said that att was being suspiciously shady and was likely just shopping project costs and stringing them along. They shuttered the project

Do not share your ideas with your leaders. They will just collect them, trim you out, and takes the credit.

@b5 Wow I totally understand and feel the pain. I worked at T since 2002. Got outsourced to IBM in 2019 and worked there for 3.5 yrs. T hired several of us back again only 18 months later to get laid off AGAIN!!!!. Was 12 months away from hitting 20 yr mark and getting pension early. They are a sh-t show!!!!!. Stay positive though, as I just ended up retiring at 60 anyway and don't regret a bit. Was very fortunate to have prepared for the day though.

@OP AT&T needs to post publicly about layoffs instead of hiding. Lot of fear, agony working there for employees. How hard you work it’s about selfish #s that matter for that company

I was let go earlier this year. The ridiculous part is I have had two recruiters reach out to me about contractor role at AT&T that is fully remote.

Got my notice this morning, 11/6 last day on payroll. I'm Elbaz-Legg org, Bothell hub. Would have been 18 years as FTE in April, with a couple of years as a contractor before 2008 NPW-FTE conversion. Was gonna retire at 65-yo at the end of 1Q2026 anyway, so.... shrug.
