@br it was a horrible day. This time they will all be virtual meetings. Office will be closed on Tuesday.
@bf I was part of the 2015 layoff, got notified on the bus with a meeting, hearded into a room, then let go. It'll be the same this time I'm sure. If you are concerned, stay home that day and they'll find you anyway. On leave, on vacation, out sick, doesnt matter. They'll just send ya a box.

@ar My first thought when I heard there would be a RIF is “how are they going to get all these people in the same place at 830am, when so many people are commuting at that time”….. because they would give this message to everybody at the same time. My assumption is they don’t want people driving or in transition when they give this message, as that could make them liable if there was a car accident. It makes sense that they would want everybody to be in the same place so they can control the scenario of how to deliver the message.
@ab I guess we will find out, but how could they possibly word communication about wfh without letting the cat out of the bag? Especially when most hybrid teams are mandated 3 days in office a week (some requiring specific days like T-W-Th)

@ar optics. It looked reallly bad in 2015 watching everyone march out with boxes etc. this allows to level the playing field and if there are remote Team Members impacted and hybrid, they all are getting the same message at the same time vs waiting in the room for people online, making sure audio works etc.
@aq I would assume that would be shipped to your current at home address on file. I would plan to visit the office and grab those things before then

@aj so there's no media on Nicolette Mall filming distraught ex employees walking out with boxes. Its logistically easier to mail in laptops and devices that have been remotely locked at a specific time.

Can confirm 10/28. All HQ TMs will be asked to work from home Tuesday.
It's 100% on 10/28. A comm should be coming out either tomorrow or Friday explaining a few things and reminding people to work at home on Tuesday.

Considering the date formatting, I’m guessing OP is from outside the US.
Though there’s a chance something is happening on 10/28, I would not take this post as confirmation.
