Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Affable young women leaders

How many of these affable, not business savvy PSG 26-29 leaders do we have? Annoyingly, many routinely block their Mondays for extended vacations. They make every school and coaching event. Rarely in the office more than 2 days a week. I swear, it’s like they work part time, dolling out work while away. I’m talking line leadership (B&C) and functions (especially Law!!). Christ!

@OP If you’re looking for someone to scapegoat, as apparently you are, start with men. MW and MN for example, who do you think launched this move to downsize and offshore most jobs?

Generalizations, especially those rooted in age, gender, or perceived work habits undermine valid concerns and veer into bias. Leadership effectiveness isn't measured by time in the office, but by outcomes, decision-making, and team impact.
Leaders can manage flexible schedules while driving results, and remote work has become a legitimate, performance-based norm.

If there's a real performance gap, the solution lies in data-driven feedback, not frustration aimed at demographics.

Let’s take the gender out of this one and I can identify lots of affable but not very effective folks around. Thankfully in the new new Chevron, one won’t need to be likable in order to get ahead.

The only question for me is this:
Are they going to change business outcomes? Are they innovative? If yes, then I don’t care. If shuffling paper, then no bueno.
