Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

XEROX BUSINESS SOLUTIONS LLC

What’s with the notes circulating about the legal restructure at XBS , and why now? And why are they asking employees to re sign employment agreements? Could it be that they’re sneaking in updated non competes?

Yes I agree, XBS had lower skills and were overrated. That's why they had to work with Xerox people.

In my opinion: Could have something to do with today's announcement about scaling the "inside sales team in Texas from 20 to 180 people in coming YEARS". LMFAO, I saw the building in the announcement and went, "hmm, where have I seen that Texas building before". It's Dahill's former HQ building before they were wholly folded with Denitech. Guarantee one or both those orgs had 180 regional account managers flanked by 1000 internal support operations folks to support just Texas clientele - 6 years ago. So imagine there's plenty of cubicle space to fit these new sales hires inheriting XBS clients all over country today.... Or at least till the accounts get hot-potato'd again to the next closest Xerox dealer or reseller. Also, how does a 5 billion dollar revenue organization only have 20 inside sales people? The XBS sales exodus has been a purposeful and methodical burn-off, until Xerox can unload direct ops - XBS - altogether.

They got the ITsavvy people to sign a non-solicit. Most of them are in Illinois, and non-competes don't hold up in Illinois. Probably getting a non-solicit out of them, as it works out to be the same thing when looking for your next job.

The next step is to transfer the entire team to a reseller who will merge with their existing team for synergies. This is the quickest way for Xerox to cut their overhead.

The worst employee at XBS has superior work ethic over any Xerox direct employee including you know who.

Facts.

The best thing Xerox could do is to eliminate XBS entirely and fire every employee that ever worked for XBS.

Does this dovetail with the rumor about field techs being transferred to local agents/dealers?

Mann…I have no idea what the heck you are waiting for?!!!

The company is on verge of a complete implosion or meltdown, and you guys still don’t get it. Why would you put yourself through all this confusion and grief ?
There is no good outcome here. Period.

No one ever got rich by not taking a chance. But the odds are beyond stacked against you here.

This whole industry blows. And this place is the leader extraordinaire.
If you are still here 2 hours from now, you totally deserve everything you get. What type of warning signs do you need?
Good Lord. Open your eyes people.

Just fricking do it. Regain your dignity.

It would be hard to believe they’d need employees to sign updated “offer letters” unless xerox as a company needs to ensure they’re protecting solely themselves. Chances are the changes invalidate the current employment agreements, including any non compete provisions. They’re likely making some changes to compensation as well as a part of this and will provide the employees a short time window to sign it or be fired (I mean not accept your new employment offer). There’s a reason an attorney is now the president!
