Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

My productivity is about to plummet

No more reading or answering emails after hours, no more working beyond the time I’m physically in the office , no more checking in on sick days. None of that. I know I’m not the only one whose productivity will take a hit, and for what? Someone’s power fantasy? No, thanks.

Everyone please look into leave of absence > health care exemptions > ask for a remote work exception. Migraines? POTS? MCAS? Allergies? IBS? The list goes on. Provide medical proof in the request, it gets approved by HR and your manager. It does work! If it doesn’t, use 30-90 days for mental health because you will need it.

Also look at Molina Healthcare they have a ton of 100% remote opportunities. Also, Centene Corporation.

To Humana. Thanks for the information. Will be googling Humana jobs going forward. How is the layoffs situation is it as bad as it is here and everyone anxious everyday?

When I am in the office no courtesy flushes when I'm doing my business.

NEVER work past 5:00 because it then becomes an expectation.. The rodents will come from everywhere asking you for stuff. Not worth it for this ev!l place.

To OP - As a person who was hired 15+ years ago as a 100% remote worker (searched purposely for remote work due to a health condition) and have put in tons of overtime over the years working remotely, I dropped my productivity as soon as they started forcing me to drive an hour to an office where I work with NOBODY! You won't catch me volunteering for sh_t anymore now that I am mandated in office. I am actively looking externally again.

Why are the trolls from Optum running their mouths here? Who cares. Not about Optum. Go away to your own layoff link

I am fully remote at Optum. To be honest, I do not do any work. My boss left a year ago, and I have no work and not meetings. One day they will figure it out. But for now, I'm going to ride the Optum free lunch train.

Maybe I should be thanking ELV for making me work 7.5 hours a day instead of 12. As fuel tank cost goes up my productivity at work goes down. Even ki-l.

I work at Optum and I am fully remote. Yes it’s almost fully remote meaning depending on the role and the Org.

Previous post is incorrect...Optum is NOT fully remote. Not even close. Most of us Optum employees have to go in a few days a week with full time RTO being discussed by leaders.

Optum is fully remote, Cigna is mostly, Aetna depends the space, Oscar Health is mostly remote, Guidewell, most RCM’s Zelis, Evolent, Ceris, Corvel, Cotiviti, Ensemble Health Partners, R1 RCM, Managed Resources, Machinify, Alaffia, AthenaOne, Ascension, e4Health, Gainwell, Enablecomp, Pivotal Solutions are remote. EXL is growing but I hear salaries are low. Some great alternatives are GE Healthcare, Fidelity, The Hartford, and CHUBB.

At the surface, the company is pushing for face to face interactions. You should consider it... by not taking any video or teams virtual meetings on hybrid days. If something is worth being said, they could say it to your face.

I interviewed with Humana and the tile was fully remote. It would’ve been a pay cut but sad now I didn’t take the job. There are still fully remote jobs out there.

Everywhere I’ve been interviewing in the industry is telling me 5 days a week in the office right at the start of the conversation as an expectation….I think we are feeling it here but it’s going back as the norm for most big corps. Perspective if your think it might be different other places—- that’s not been my experience.

I've never been productive. I guess I'm ahead of the curve here.

Please keep your productivity up during these hard times. We need to boost the stock price. Once it gets back to the mid 500’s, you can kick back and loaf. I’d have sold my ESOP shares by then. (Yes, the sarcasm is intended here.)
Pay me for 40 hours of work, you’ll get 40 hours of work. And they may not be my most productive 40 hours.

If it’s 5 days a week in office come 2026 then this joke of a company will be the ONLY company enforcing every day of the week commuting, being unproductive and unmotivated to sh-t for Elevance. WFH WORKS. And it works well. All the dribble about caring about the health of humanity is utter bull()&&. The negative environmental impact of even more totally avoidable Co2 emissions in our already damaged atmosphere- RTO IS a thousand steps backwards . We tout mental health yet our associates are psychologically tortured and gaslighted to death. Such a waste of real estate— talk about high operational costs. A solid virtual workforce saves the company millions. This is big birds incessant need for control . Nothing like having a masters degree and being treated like a damn child. Productivity will plummet. Talent will leave. No one will be left who knows anything to train anyone. get a clue Elevance— No one will want to work for a backwards 5 days a week in office already morally questionable company. No one with any talent. You will get the desperate and inept. Good look attracting and retaining a workforce. You are not too big fail.

You do not have a desk to leave your laptop. You have to reserve a desk.

Leave your laptops in the office so you can't work from home even if you want to (but, please don't want to🫤).

My productivity already plummeted. I’m on this site too much to get the next RIF scoop. Then I end up staying to read all the newest issues. 😀 Luckily I’m not part of the 3 day a week RTO (yet) but I clearly will not be trying to get a manager job or even a promotion. as E13 I’m safe for now.
