Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Take a job?

Should I leave a competitor to come work for P66? I currently have 8 years where I’m at now!

The why……Currently unhappy with the politics and d-mb ranking system. I know every job has a downfall but unaware of how P66 operates!

I know people will disagree and that’s OK. I worked for Phillips for 40 years and now retired also happy. Needless to say I have seen layoffs and new people getting job. Also if your running away from problems, there will be problems at the new place to. So the only thing I can say is no matter where you are, do the best you can and if something go’s wrong you can hold your head up and say that I did your best I can. Then in the long run you will be blessed one way or the other.

Agree! Run away. I left P66 a year ago for a competitor. Got a raise, higher bonus % and most importantly a team that actually appreciates my work…it is possible. Best decision ever!

Run. Worst executive team in energy that is completely disconnected from what is going on.

If you are junior, it could be an opportunity to come in for a few years and make good money, but have an exit plan and ensure you network outside the company.

What level are you? The closer you get to working with management and the Leaders Group, the more you will stall out and be frustrated.

We recently adopted a d-mb ranking system and they've locked down promotions so you basically can't get a raise in position.

Unless it's a location or a position you're particularly interested in, I wouldn't.
