@ae It's ironic when VZ India is complaining about their layoffs now. But I don't remember them complaining when many positions were transferred to India from the US and EU, affecting many of my former team mates
You said that 2000 of 7000 were fired while about 50% of remaining employees in Europe are being notified. I don't have exact figures but it doesn't look like there is more than a few thousands employees in Europe to begin with because majority of employees were transferred to HCL a few years ago.
Meanwhile the performance of Indian contractors like TCS or Infosys is a joke

LOL, Hiring?? I haven't seen a single new bee. Verizon India been totally collapsed due to the large scale rif among 2k been layed off with only 7k employees. Employees had already started putting papers. No job security. Everyday there is a fear of layoff.

How is offshore expanding exactly? There are RIFs happening there too
