Is it my observation or is this site heavily populated by Sales people?

@12m They also used to get huge commissions for relatively little work. A relatve of mine in sales got more in comission for one contract than I made the next 3 years supporting the cr-p she sold. Considering this plus the ridiculous amount of overlap that was created when Dell bought EMC it's not at all surprising that upper management is going after sales.
@a1 Are they though? Sales is the org that generates the money... I suppose it's easiest to layoff sales people because they have all sorts of metrics, though.
I've been on here off and on for about 5 years now and it is 99% sales people who hate their lives lol. I've yet to see anybody from IT, networking, cyber, HR, marketing, etc... on here - at least blatantly so.
It's typically a sales and ISG/CSG forum for them to complain on, basically
@av Nope. 200% to plan this Q in ISG. Commission true up is gonna be about $30k after tax lmao.
Best part is I'm remote too
cope
@ax echoing this... I used to work in support when I started in 2019, not Tier 1. High level very complex stuff, we had 61 people the day I started, the day I left last year they had 18 and they had offshored 3 of them to South America (I have no idea how since we are heavily involved in Fed)
What do you want people to do about it?
There is nothing that anyone can do about representation on this website.
@ax 😳
@am Can confirm support has been sla-ghtered. My group had 215 people in north America in 2019. Today we have 22.
@aq too bad you're laid off and not making this money.
Low skill/highest paid (if you're good) and also the majority of the Dell ecosystem and those that are laid off.
The 2nd largest group are jealous dorks that are mad that they aren't cutting $30k commission checks 4 times a year with a journalism degree.
Admin / support functions have been decimated by layoffs and offshoring already. The folks in those roles in low cost regions aren't targeted for mass layoffs, and they aren't here. I imagine sales makes up a majority of remaining employees, so that org will be represented here in greater numbers.
low skill job...yes
Sales are most frequently targeted by layoffs so yeah obviously
