Which would you choose? I'm not sure how much truth there is to the rumor that severance goes away after Chapter 11.

You over analyze because you’re an id--t.
STOP BEING MEAN TO ME !!!!!
@d0 So now asking people to take personal responsibly for their careers and lives is a corporate bootlicker.. how cute.. you enjoy your life depending on others.
So if you were let go 6 months ago you were actually better off, severance and unemployment. Who would of guessed at the time.
Bootlicker, bootlicker, bootlicker.
@cr you are wrong
@cm I am pretty sure you are wrong.. This is whole purpose of this "voluntary lay off", to have access to unemployment..
No severance for this new vrif and will not qualify for unemployment. No severance for any irif going forward but will qualify for unemployment.
With a vrif you get whatever severance they are currently offering, 12 weeks max in the US. You may or may not qualify for unemployment since you voluntarily left.
With an irif you might get severance. At one time long ago they tried to encourage volunteers with a likely higher severance than the irif. If you wait for the irif, you never know what you will get. You are much more likely to qualify for unemployment though.
If you still need to work regardless of your exit path, you should be pounding pavement. If you are ready to retire, then it's a cr-p shoot which works better for you.
@OP there is nothing to rif in ch11
Severance is probably gone already.
It’s always best to wait till something happens to you so you don’t have to accept any responsibility. It was the company that did it too me; I didn’t see the signs that my job was in question. I didn’t update my resume or apply for other jobs I need others (tax payers) to pay for my unemployment because I’m a victim.
@a1 if you read the Q&A, it states the severance is ‘standard’ meaning legacy xerox - US - is 1 week per year service capped at 12 weeks. Can’t speak for other countries or Legacy Lexmark.
Just ram your fist down your pie-hole and tickle your tonsils already! The network is the computer with the controller having that bàrfable Lotus Notes look and feel thanks to Java. Don’t forget to pay duhveloper fees to Sun Microsystems before you bankrupt.
Does anyone even know the severance you would get with the vrif? no one does
