Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

For those terminated, what does Wells Fargo reveal for future background checks?

Got terminated last week after several years here. I'm curious - does anybody know if Wells Fargo reveals eligibility for rehire or terminated with cause?

i was terminated but tbh i was able to be hired elsewhere. depends on the company i suppose, anytime someone asks me about wells i just say org restructuring and goals of the lob no longer met my needs. no one pressed further, except for one, which i said the team wasn't a great fit for me and i continiously felt promises were made but underdelivered to the point i felt like i was selling myself short. still said i was thankful for the experiences but needed to move on.

Terminated for fake IM reviews makes you ineligible for rehire. That is not something anyone could control.

@a1 i tried asking for a letter of recommendation from my manager, well a LinkedIn one for that matter. Im making use of the site as intended and they said they couldn't give one because weren't allowed too. If they truly wanted to help, they could have gave a personal one. Left on good terms.

You can go into their third party verification site and look for yourself.

there is a site called "the work number" that companies check for employment info - you can lock that down so they can't.

They will provide:

  • Employment dates
  • Job title
  • Eligibility for rehire

@OP . LEGALLY, THEY CANNOT SAY YOU WERE TERMINATED BUT IF ASKED IF THEY WILL RE-HIRE YOU AND THEY SAY NO, THEN YOUR NEW EMPLOYER WILL KNOW YOU WERE TERMINATED.

Terminated sounds harsh, it sounds like this wasn't a restructuring layoff. Your question about the for-cause is also concerning.

It sounds like you were fired for something major? And if terminated with cause, there will be no severance?

If a regular layoff, you should ask for a letter of recommendation.
